Anastasia Korotkova
My name is Anastasia, and I am a native English linguist and EFL teacher based in Manchester, United Kingdom. Growing up in a Russian-English bilingual household and having lived in a number of different countries as a child, languages have always played an important part in my life, and a passion which I have continuously pursued throughout adulthood. In 2014, I began studying a BA degree in Modern Languages and European Studies (French and Spanish) at the University of Bath. As part of my studies, I spent half a year in Madrid, where I taught English at a private language academy, and then moved to Montpellier to complete a six-month internship in translation project management.
When I graduated from university in 2018, I decided to relocate back to Spain, where I gained my TEFL certification and taught English for three years. In the autumn of 2020, I began studying for my MA degree in Translation and Professional Language Skills, whilst continuing to teach English both in-person, and remotely due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Upon completion of my MA degree, I moved back to the UK where I am now working as a freelance English linguist and EFL teacher. As well as providing services for translation, copyediting and proofreading, I offer individual online English classes to non-native speakers, and I also frequently collaborate with a number of non-profit organisations as a volunteer linguist.
